BabyBarrier Pool Fence of Mid Florida sells and installs only premium American made pool fence. BabyBarrier Pool Fence manufactures all of its own pool fence products at our corporate office and facility in Punta Gorda Florida. We invented the original pool fence over 56 years ago and our company representatives got together with Florida policy makers to create the pool fence standards that are still used today.
The minimum and standard height for pool fences is 48 inches or 4 feet. This height prevents children who can’t yet swim from climbing over the fence.
Pool Fences should not have any gaps or openings that would allow a child to squeeze through or crawl under. When we install a pool fence the largest gap where a fence starts or where a section connects is no greater than 2.5 inches. The US Consumer Products Safety Commission recommends a maximum of 4 inches. We are well below that level.
BabyBarrier uses a mesh pool fence coated with PVC for extra strength and UV protection. We manufacture our poles 36 inches apart. This is 4 inches below the maximum requirement of 40 inches. The bottom of the mesh barrier should be no more than 1 inch from the installed surface. BabyBarriers fence actually rests on the pool deck with no gap at all. Our pool fences exceed the required tensile strength 100 lbf and minimum ball burst strength of 150 lbf.
BabyBarrier gates are self-closing and self latching with a lockable Magna-Latch installed above the gate and out of a child’s reach. These gates are an option with a pool fence purchase. You can also choose a manual entrance into the pool. This entrance works by undoing the safety latch at the top of the pole where the sections connect together. The poles are lifted out and fitted into extra holes installed inside the fence. This creates a 6 foot entrance when its pool time. When your finished, you simply lock the sections back together with the safety latch. This option is the safest and comes with the pool fence purchase at no extra cost.
A BabyBarrier pool fence is easy to maintain. A lite pressure wash a few times a year is all that’s needed to keep your fence looking new. Another good idea is to remove the pool fence a few times a year and wash out any dirt in the PVC deck inserts with a hose nozzle. This will keep your pool fence easily removable over its lifetime. BabyBarrier Pool Fence of Mid Florida only recommends black pool fences in Florida. The lighter colors can be ordered but are not recommended since the will show green algae that builds up in the summer humidity. A black fence is also the easist to see thru since it does not reflect the sun.
